At least 270 known species of mushrooms have been found to possess therapeutic properties. Although they have been used medicinally for thousands of years, it has just been in the past decades that researchers have begun clinically researching them and their many benefits.

Many mushrooms have benefits but the top 6 are:

Reishi- this mushroom has been used for some time in cancer therapy as it assists in helping the immune system. It is one of the most poplular mushrooms as it also supports weight loss; a unique quality of Reishi is that is contains triterpene which helps to relieve anxiety. It is often used for sleep, anxiety, depression and focus.

Lion's Mane- this has become very popular for brain health and even has been used for Alzheimer’s and Multiple Sclerosis. It is some serious brain food.

Chaga- these mushrooms are an antioxidant powerhouse- they can be very helpful for fighting free radicals and inflammation. It has also been known to slow the growth of cancer, lowers LDL and is often used to prevent skin aging.

Shitake- these mushrooms are really good for the heart as they have been shown to lower cholesterol and blood pressure and help with circulation.

Turkey Tail- this mushroom contains polysaccharide-K that stimulates the immune system. PSK is so effective that it's an approved anticancer prescription drug in Japan. It has been shown to improve the survival rate of people with certain cancers, fight leukemia cells and improve the immune system of people receiving chemotherapy.

Cordyceps- this is very stimulating for both energy and the libido. It helps the body utilize oxygen more efficiently and it enhances blood flow. This is great for athletes as it also assists with muscle recovery.
